In Betancuria you can find out the real character of Fuerteventura. You can stroll along the small alleys of the historic center and it seems that it Betancuria time stands still. Antique buildings, monuments, small cottages and more. The visitors are charmed by the nice atmosphere of Betancuria.

Casa Antonio is one of the restaurants to recommend. It is situated directly on the main road on the left side in direction to Antigua. Once I’ve been there I discovered a real specialty called cochino negro, what would mean something like black pig. It is Iberian pig grilled, mmmhhhh, it was delicious!

Another restaurant, where you can have a good meal, is Restaurante Santa Lucia. This place is quiet famous in Betancuria. It is placed in a typical antique house with its typical canarian style and patio. The dishes are not as typical and a little bit more expensive, but the atmosphere is really special.

During your holiday on Fuerteventura you can visit the idyllic place of Betancuria and find out the real character of the isle.
