Las Playitas – where hustle and bustle are extraneous
Fuerteventura is very famous for beautiful beaches, but what is as well very characteristic for this isle are the small and lonely beaches along the coast and in the interior.
Fuerteventura is the second biggest isle of the Canaries and at the same time the less populated of all seven isles.
Fuerteventura is everything except an overcrowded area. Here you can drive along for kilometers and kilometers through the wonderful landscape where no village is near or far. The villages on the coast and in the interior are sometimes very tiny and sometimes all you find there are only one bar and one restaurant and a shop. I have been to one of those places called Las Playitas.
The nice village of Las Playitas
Las Playitas is situated on the South coast of the isle, round about 30 km beneath of Caleta de Fuste, near Gran Tarajal. You can get to this village at the coast on the road FV 415, which leads from Gran Tarajal to Las Playitas.
If you arrive at the village you can enjoy the wonderful, small lanes and stroll along and see the typical canarian houses. Here you can feel pure idyllic atmosphere, which normally you find rarely on a touristic isle as Fuerteventura.
You can visit very characteristic fisherman’s villages, where it seems that time stood still. The avenues along the coast and the beaches are not overfilled with people and you can enjoy the lonesome and special atmosphere.

At the end of the promenade you find different restaurants with terraces and nice places to sit outside directly at the promenade. Here you can eat real good fish specialties and try typical canarian specialties or have some good wine and bear. The sundown is really awesome to see it from the terraces.

In the village of Las Playitas live over all locals and the visitors and tourists are recognized very easily. The habitants of Las Playitas are really friendly and sociable.
