Fuerteventura is very famous for beautiful beaches, but what is as well very characteristic for this isle are the small and lonely beaches along the coast and in the interior.
Fuerteventura is the second biggest isle of the Canaries and at the same time the less populated of all seven isles. Fuerteventura is everything except an overcrowded area. Here you can drive along for kilometers and kilometers through the wonderful landscape where no village is near or far. The villages on the coast and in the interior are sometimes very tiny and sometimes all you find there are only one bar and one restaurant and a shop. I have been to one of those places called Las Playitas.
On the isle of Fuerteventura there is a real temple for gourmets. The exquisite restaurant Patio de Lajares is situated in the North of the isle, between the beaches of Corralejo and El Cotillo. The village Lajares is nice to visit and you can combine a sightseeing tour with a visit in the gourmet restaurant.

For many people is the ideal weather and climate on Fuerteventura the main purpose to spend a holiday or the whole winter on this beautiful canary island.
The differences in temperature between summer and winter are low, so you can spend your vacation the whole year with lots of sunny days.
The temperatures are between 26 °C and 28 °C in the summer months and between 22°C and 24°C during the winter months. But not only the good weather and the sunny climate are the reason why Fuerteventura is so interesting to visit.
Rain and clouds are very rare on Fuerteventura. It’s a time-honoured destination, for sure.
During our holiday on Fuerteventura the isle really got me fascinating. Often people think that to see some beautiful and nice beaches of white sand and to practice watersports you have to go very far.
In my opinion this is wrong, because on Fuerteventura, on the canary archipelago you find many beaches, which look like in the Caribbean.
We enjoyed at the beaches not only by sunbathing and doing watersports, we had very nice moments strolling along the romantic beaches. My favorite beach on the isle of Fuerteventura with difference is the beach of Sotavento in the South, between Costa Calma and Morro Jable.
A nice excursion you can make on Fuerteventura is a tour to Cofete on the South of the isle. Our excursion was a real nice experience. Cofete is one of the smallest villages of the isle where you can see locals and their way of life.
The breeding of the goats hast got a long tradition in this area and many families formerly dedicated their time to breeding. Cofete is a village of shepherds and farmers. Typical specialties from this area are goat milk, goat cheese (Majorero Cheese) and delicious dishes with goat meat.
